At American Jordanian Secondary School, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. School life provides students with opportunities to discover their interests, develop their talents, build meaningful relationships, take on responsibility, celebrate their heritage, and challenge themselves in new ways.
Through a variety of academic, cultural, athletic, and leadership experiences, students are encouraged to become confident, responsible, creative, engaged, and well-rounded individuals.
School Counseling & Guidance
At American Jordanian Secondary School, we recognize that every student has a unique journey. Our counseling and guidance program supports students throughout their school years as they make important academic, personal, and future decisions.
Our counselors work with students, families, teachers, and school leadership to provide guidance based on each student’s strengths, interests, needs, and aspirations.
Support includes academic guidance, course planning, university and college preparation, career exploration, SAT and AP guidance, goal setting, and support with important educational decisions.
Our goal is for every student to feel heard, supported, encouraged, and prepared as they progress through school and take their next step toward higher education and their future.
Student Council
The AJSS Student Council gives students an active voice within the School community. Through student-led initiatives, activities, and events, council members develop leadership, communication, decision-making, teamwork, and responsibility while representing the interests and ideas of their fellow students.
Clubs & Student Organizations
Our clubs and student organizations allow students to explore their interests beyond the regular curriculum. Students can participate in academic, scientific, technological, artistic, cultural, linguistic, and recreational activities while developing new skills and building friendships.
These opportunities encourage students to take initiative, collaborate with others, and transform their interests and ideas into meaningful experiences.
AJSS Sports
Athletics are an important part of life at AJSS. Through football, basketball, volleyball, and other sporting activities, students develop physical fitness while learning valuable lessons in teamwork, discipline, perseverance, leadership, and sportsmanship.
Our teams and athletic activities encourage students to challenge themselves, support one another, and take pride in representing American Jordanian Secondary School.
Palestinian Heritage
At AJSS, we believe that a modern, globally oriented education should be complemented by a strong connection to our cultural heritage.
Through Dabke, cultural activities, traditional celebrations, and heritage events, students have opportunities to learn about, celebrate, and preserve Palestinian traditions. These experiences help students develop a strong sense of identity and pride in their heritage while remaining open to the cultures and perspectives of the wider world.
Academic Enrichment
Learning at AJSS extends beyond the standard classroom experience. Our Academic Enrichment opportunities encourage students to challenge themselves, explore subjects in greater depth, and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
Students may participate in academic competitions, science and research projects, debates, subject-based challenges, educational activities, SAT and AP preparation, and other enrichment experiences that strengthen critical thinking, creativity, communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
Alumni
Our AJSS Alumni are an important part of our School’s history and community. For more than three decades, our graduates have continued their journeys in universities, careers, and communities around the world.
We are proud of their achievements and remain committed to keeping our alumni connected with AJSS and future generations of students.
Once AJSS, always part of the family.
